These lyrics refer to the version performed on 15 February 1977 at the Masonic Temple Auditorium, Detroit.
The SAD EYES interlude came to prominence during the
Darkness On The Edge Of Town tour. Lyrically,
it varied considerably, however it was almost always a short tale about betrayal and lost love. The cut of
BACKSTREETS on the Live 1975-85 set
features the SAD EYES part edited out. Quite simply, it remains a testament of
Bruce's passion on stage.
